"They're not crisps... They're Thrice Cut Frites"

One of the recent converts in this area literally says the most absurd
and pretentious Cambridge phrases that I have ever heard so I've
started writing them down in my planner... This is one of them. It
makes me laugh every single time he says anything. Like what the heck
is a frite?!? Who knows. Not me. Anyway...

Andy was baptised!!! Nothing went wrong and it was just a sweet,
simple service. It was perfect! (Even though I had nightmares about
the water not turning on, Andy not showing up, etc, etc) nothing went
wrong. So I had stress dreams for no reason at all! Classic.... But I digress.
       .
What a guy.  He told us about how he started thinking about going on a mission.  HELLO!  HOW COOL IS THAT.

Oh my word.  Last Monday we had a lesson with this man from India and I have never laughed so hard in my life.  My companion can never keep a straight face, and when our investigator is there burping in between stories of the Book of Mormon, she just lost it.  Seriously, I have never heard anyone burp so loudly.  When we asked him to say the closing prayer, he started bending over and bowing down.  Turns out he is supes Muslim and wants us to come to his mosque with him next week.

We saw one of our investigators in town this week and I asked him if he had been reading his Book of Mormon and he literally started cackling and goes "sisters....I cannot lie to you...." and then sprinted away from us.  SPRINTED!!  He is the goofiest runner and sister Cobabe and I just died.  I was laughing too hard to even be mad at him.  We'll see how this one progresses.....Lolzies.

Also, this is cute Harry who wants to "be a Mormon" so badly.  He also says he knows the Book of Mormon is true because he saw his long lost cat the day after he came to church.  I was a little lost about how that relates, but we just nodded and smiled and went along with it.  He's a really sweet man.

You guys, we met the funniest people this week, and it was just an absolute blast.

I love you and I love how much this message helps people. I know that Heavenly Father wants us to have joy because I've seen how much joy and peace these people are able to find as they change and grow closer to Heavenly Father.

I love you guys!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxox, Sister Daines

I ATE 30 BISCUITS THIS WEEK

You guys. I hit 6 months on my mission this week. How that happened I will never know. Also it feels like I've been out for about one million years. Like I really do feel like I've lived here forever. But then I get the scary realization that I know nothing about the UK because this week was my first time eating in a pub! And here's how----

LIANA GHALLAGER CAME TO CAMBRIDGE!!!!! She called us on the phone and I just about died. I also cried when I saw her but thats neither here nor there. Anyway, she took us out to eat and it was my first real pub food, complete with fish &chips and meat pies. it was delicious. But it was even better to talk with sweet LiLi. That was a highlight forsure.

funniest thing that happened this week: we tried to approach this man and talk to him about the book of mormon and it somehow ended up with him talking for literally 23 minutes about Colonel Custard (Curster?? I have no idea) and about the ''true story'' behind the American Indian reservations/ wars/ I don't even know what else. Honestly I have never been more lost in my entire life because he did not stop talking once during that time. I am NOT KIDDING. This is not me being funny/ exaggerating for effect. He did NOT STOP TALKING. I wish i video recorded him because it was honestly the most confusing but also hilarious but also nonsensical string of random facts that I have ever heard. He was a 68 year old English man, btw. I feel like I needed McKay there to tell me what all of these random dates/ wars/ historical events were. And then at the end he tried to convince us to watch one of his films about it with him. Swerve.

We talk to the most interesting people every single day. I wish you could all be there to witness my awkward conversations and my attempt to tie things back to the gospel. it's amusing to say the least.

I love you all! This week has been so fun and so good and I am just so darn blessed.

LOVE YOU

TRANSFERS TUESDAY

NOBODY PANIC THOUGH!!!! I'm staying in Cambridge, so I can see Andy
get baptised!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! That was my one fear about leaving,
was not being able to see Andy be baptised.  But we are all good--- and
when we texted him today and told him we were both staying he said:
(and I quote)
"Woohoo I'm so happy to hear that! And I have to say that God really
hear my pray! That is a wonderful new"

I LOVE IT!!! He is a such a good guy.
Lunch with Andy and a member.  It was dang delicious.
This week was so much fun.  I have a million pictures and almost no memories of anything that happened-- so I will let them do the talking.

We did service at our Ward mission leader's house and he is YOKED.  (That's him in the blue shirt and seriously he is 50x stronger than me.  Shoutout to brother Hewson!!!)  also I dug out a tree and it was way fun slash got out some of my aggression.  Also he was a professional footballer.  I learned that this week.  He's a beast.

Also, he made us dinner for missionary correlation meeting.  So another reason he's the best.
Sister Cobabe's tire was so flat...That poor little goose had to ride home with literally no air in her tire at ALL.
Our homie Malo from Nigeria who is a "spiritual scientist".  Whatever the heck that means.  Lolzies.  He is reading his Book of Mormon though so that's a blessing.  We think he might just want to meet with us so that we will show him how to set up his kindle account, but the Lord works in mysterious ways, right?  :)
I love you guys!!!!  Life is so good!!!!
